Aliza Sherman: Innovative Cannabis Entrepreneur

Women are leading cannabis education, and Ellementa is at the helm.

Aliza Sherman,  co-founder and CEO of Ellementa, author, and tech entrepreneur, is sharing her knowledge of cannabis for health and wellness. Aliza got her start in tech, where she founded the first woman-owned internet company: Cybergrrl Inc. and the first global internet networking organization for women, Webgrrls International. Although she was named one of the “100 Most Powerful Hispanic Entrepreneurs” and one of the “Top People Who Matter Most on the Internet,” Aliza set her sights on a new project. Her passion for empowering women led her to create Ellementa.

Ellementa is a network connecting women to better informtion about the health benefits and uses of medical marijuana.

Ellementa offers “online and offline instruction, support, and ways for women to gather around the topic of cannabis.” Marijuana is a complex issue! With so many conflicting reports on its uses and effects, it can be difficult to get a fair and unbiased understanding of the plant. Sherman describes the business as “the bridge between a woman and the companies with products and services that serve her health and wellness needs.” The company holds meetings all over the country to discuss potential uses of the plant for pain management, insomnia, and more. Ellementa now holds meetings in 18 cities across the country and plans on adding more in the near future.

Sherman’s innovative health startup gives women the resources and tools they need to understand cannabis. Legal cannabis sales are booming and it shows no signs of slowing down. With 29 states legalizing some form of weed and predictions of many more to follow, it’s time to get savvy about the health and wellness benefits of cannabis. Here’s to the women filling the education gap!
