Necessity is the mother of invention and these words certainly apply to Drew Ann Long and Caroline’s Cart.
Long, mother of three including special needs daughter Caroline, was “desperately struggling” to include Caroline in everyday tasks like grocery shopping. After a frustrating day navigating a stroller, wheelchair and shopping cart at her local market, Long returned home and drafted a design.
Six years later, Caroline’s carts are found in major retailers like Walmart, Target, Giant, Kroger and allow thousands of people to comfortably shop with their loved ones with special needs, including seniors. We discovered her story on Little Things, a great site for inspiration!
