The Science of Skin Care (and the Woman Behind it)

Who is the serial entrepreneur behind Dynamis Skin Science?

Annette Tobia, Ph.D., J.D., is the Founder and CEO of Dynamis Skin Science and co-inventor of the technology behind MEG 21 and the development of Supplamine. She has more than 30 years’ experience in launching and developing new life science companies. Through intensive medical research, Dr. Tobia and her team of scientists discovered a compound that intervenes in the production and availability of toxic sugars – a leading cause of inflammation, skin aging and wrinkling – in skin.

What is DSS and what has been your biggest success to date?

“Dynamis Skin Science (DSS) was founded on the strength of a breakthrough discovery, Supplamine®, born of medical research and clinical trials conducted by DSS’s parent company, Dynamis Therapeutics, Inc.* DSS was launched in 2006 and offers a suite of proprietary, Supplamine-based skin health and beauty care products, sold through dermatologists, plastic surgeons, medical and luxury spas. I feel my biggest success has been the ability to share my findings with other women (in the form of my creams) to give them back their confidence. It changes how you feel about yourself! When you look good, you feel good!”

*The research proved that the active ingredients in Supplamine inhibits glycation, oxidative stress, and inflammation; clinical trials showed that Supplamine, applied to the skin, rapidly reduces fine lines, wrinkles and loss of skin elasticity; increases moisturization; and improves skin tone.

What do you do to stay healthy?

“Eat less sugar and limit overindulgence!. Walk or pace when on the phone for exercise, sometimes with a weight in the free hand. Financially, follow the stock market and trade. Mentally: meditation. Physically, not much but I have a fabulous doctor! Spiritually, I stay in regular contact with the creator of all and “listen” carefully for guidance. Socially? Keep in touch with good friends but especially my immediate family.”

Dr. Tobia’s tips for aspiring female founders:

  1. Have a support system around you.
  2. Be disciplined and committed to self care.
  3. Look for a network of successful women and find a mentor.

Thank you for sharing your story of health & wellness, Dr. Tobia!
