Fan favorite Wonder Woman receives no Academy Award nominations.

The female-directed superhero movie starring Gal Gadot was not nominated for an Oscar this year. In addition to being a celebration of female power and strength, “Wonder Woman is the highest domestic grossing film of 2017 to receive zero Oscar nominations.” This is not the first time a female-driven movie has gone unnoticed by the Academy, but the snub is particularly notable in the year of #MeToo.
