These Two Young Women Are Committed to Healing Others

The founders of Project HEAL, Liana Rosenman and Kristina Saffran, met while undergoing treatment for anorexia nervosa at just 13-years-old.

The two girls helped each other to reach full recovery, and decided to help others achieve it as well.

In the spring of 2008, both at the age of 15, they founded Project HEAL to raise money for others suffering with eating disorders who want to recover but are unable to afford treatment.

What is the mission of Project HEAL?

“Project Heal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing grant funding for those suffering from eating disorders unable to afford treatment. Started in 2008 by two girls at the age of 15 who met while in treatment for anorexia. They witnessed other sufferers be discharged from inpatient treatment because of poor insurance coverage or unable to pay.”

What do you do to stay healthy — financially, mentally, physically, spiritually, or socially?

“We promote healthy body image and self-love, while serving as a testament that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible.”

Thank you for sharing your story, Project HEAL. Your team is doing incredible work!
