Who I am:
Hortense Bernard created her own branch of her family company, Millesima, USA.
My company:
Millesima, USA has been a fine wine merchant in New York City since 2006. It features a large assortment of wines and vintages from Bordeaux among others, with a retail location in NYC’s Upper East Side.
My fear:
I was afraid of starting a branch of the company, which is family owned since 1983, in the US.
How I overcame it:
I wanted to ensure that I carry the family legacy forward into the fourth generation.
What happened next:
We are the first foreign company to obtain a wine and spirits license in the state and one of the top five largest buyers of Bordeaux
