Who I am:
Russie Coy Jones, Creator of Rely-a-light
My company:
Rely-a-light is a patented line of decorative emergency lighting that comes on instantly when power is lost and charges electronic devices with and without AC power.
My fear:
Cancer and Parkinson’s Disease
How I overcame it:
Four months into my entrepreneurial journey, which began at 53 years old, I was diagnosed with cancer, and then after 8 months of treatment, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. My biggest fear is to not allow my disease to define me. The fight is real, the struggle constant, but I continue on to grow my business exponentially.
What happened next:
I did a total of 8,000.00 my first 7 weeks of business and have gone on to get the lamps in several big box retailers. I continue a successful online business and we sold out in 10 minutes during our first appearance on HSN shopping network.
